Home offices and the noise it may bring

Working from home has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but I wouldn’t change it. I think that the work/life balance is slightly off, sometimes really off. I’m not judging, I’d rather have my family around me, working just 40-45 hours a week instead of more. I also understand that it is often hard to get to that point, there is always work to be done.

One way to do this is working out of my house. Atlanta is a nightmare from the hours of 7:00-9:00 am and 4:30pm-6:00pm. We, meaning the surrounding cities of Atlanta, don’t seem to work together to solve the traffic issues. I’m sure it is hard to have 10 counties agree on a solution, but until we have a decent public transportation system from suburbia to midtown or downtown, I’ll be at home….saving the 2 hours a day commute.

Yes, working from home has its disadvantages. For example, kids are loud, and they don’t understand why a door would be closed. I feel like this guy, every once and a while…

It is also nice to know that I don’t spend 10+ hours a week in a car. So I’ll take my 4-year-old boy busting in every once and a while over being in a car. 🙂
